Geddes Gallery presents, IMPOSED TRANSITIONS, a solo exhibition of new work by Renee Spierdijk. Curated by Cornelia Marland with accompanying text written by Pantea Lotfian. The exhibition runs from Thursday 17th until Sunday 20th December 2015 in the atmospheric space of the Geddes Gallery in Kings Cross, London.

Renee’s work is inspired by images of young girls and women originating from photographs. Renee chooses portraits of children who are posed in formal clothes and settings frequently holding or surrounded by political or religious artefacts. She is interested in the process of domestication and conditioning which the children seem to be subjected to and in which they appear patient, content or quietly mutinous as they wait and hope to become themselves.

Opening times:Private View: Thursday 17th December 6pm-10pm
Open to the public: 18th- 20th 11am-6pm
